"Petunia Daddy" is a popular variety of petunia known for its bold, veined flowers and compact growth habit. Growing them successfully involves a few key steps
Choosing the Right Environment
Petunias thrive in full sun (at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily).
They prefer temperatures between 15–24°C. Avoid frost.
Soil Preparation
Use well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.0).
Enrich the soil with compost or a balanced fertilizer to encourage healthy growth.
Planting
Seeds Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before the last frost date. Petunia seeds are tiny and should be sown on the soil surface without covering them (they need light to germinate).
Seedlings Transplant seedlings into larger containers or garden beds once they're sturdy and the risk of frost has passed.
Spacing Space plants 18 – 25 cm apart to allow for proper air circulation.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply and allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
Feeding
Feed petunias every 1–2 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer, especially during their active growing and flowering phase.
Maintenance
Deadheading Remove spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
Pruning Trim back leggy growth to keep plants compact and bushy.
Pest and Disease Control Watch out for aphids, whiteflies, and fungal diseases. Treat issues promptly with appropriate insecticides or fungicides.
Container Care (if applicable)
If growing in pots, ensure containers have drainage holes.
Use a quality potting mix designed for flowers.
With proper care, Petunia Dreams will reward you with vibrant, long-lasting blooms throughout the growing season!
